 Trivia

Dave Thomas started working in restaurants when he was 12 years old in Knoxville, KY. In his late teens, he worked at the same restaurant as Colonel Sanders, who became Dave's mentor. After the Korean War, Dave bought 4 failing KFC restaurants and made them profitable by simplifiying the menus. The KFC chain adopted the policy for all its stores. Dave sold the stores back to KFC for $1.5 million, which he used to start Wendy's. Wendy's pioneered using fresh (not frozen) components, and was the first to use drive through windows.
